Here's something strange and somewhat Beck-related from the New York Daily News: ----- A Beck Too Far Rocker Beck doesn't seem bothered that a guy was posing as him last weekend in the Hamptons. The impostor is said to have traded on the Grammy winner's fame at Cynthia Rowley's fashion show at NV Tsunami, where he flirted with designer Betsy Johnson's daughter, Lulu, and other beauties. But the real Beck, who has been touring in Europe, laughed when we told him about the cad. "I'm glad I'm making out so well," said the musician, who doesn't do badly himself. Ask Winona Ryder and Gina Gershon. ----- Also from the New York Daily News, word of Beck attending Madonna's concert at Madison Square Garden: ...Beck, just back from his own European tour, said he'd never seen her before because "I didn't have the money when I was younger. I'm a total fan. She's a cultural totem."... Sidenote: Not the Beck BBS is a nice source of Beck news, I can't always keep up with everything, so if you haven't been there maybe you should, eh? :)

Beck in Spain Here's a nice review of Wednesday's concert in San Sebatian (and unless you can read Spanish easily, you should probably translate it). And another South Park review + a picture (you'll want to translate that too).

There's a review of T in the Park at NME with less than stellar comments about Beck. There's another review at virtualfestivals.com with some nicer comments. :)

I haven't been able to find a setlist of the South Park show, but apparently Beck played an acoustic set for about 30 minutes. Nme reviewed the South Park show and mentioned that Beck played mostly songs from Mutations. I read some comments from Sigur Ros and Radiohead fans; some called it disappointing, while others thought it was brilliant. It seems that his set was cut short because Supergrass played longer than they were supposed to. Read more comments here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BECK! Woohoo, today is Beck's birthday! Celebrate 31 years of Beckness by eating a cake in Beck's honor (mm, it's tasty)! Click here to view a 12 minute interview with Beck held before the Quart Festival in Norway. You can check out a review of the concert here. Good luck with it, it's all in Swedish! There is a strange little Beck interview embedded within an Air interview in the June/July issue of Magnet magazine. Click here to read it. If anyone has any reviews of these past few Beck concerts in Europe, please send them to me! In return you will get...a thank-you note? :)
